As followers of Jesus, we never stop growing and being formed in our faith. St.Alban’s provides several opportunities throughout the week for discipleship and Christian formation.
Sundays (September through May) at 9:30 am we offer a variety of Adult classes: A discussion of the scripture readings for that Sunday, book studies, and other topical classes.
Tuesdays at 7:00 am Bible and Biscuits (September through May) Join us as we take slow walks through the books of the Bible and enjoy fellowship and continental breakfast. There is no “homework” for this class, just show up when you are able and jump into the discussion wherever we are.
(New) Member Class: Two times each year, we offer a three part class that will orient you to the Episcopal Church, our history and way of worship, and all about St.Alban’s. You do not need to be “new” to attend! This class is beneficial to everyone no matter how long (or short) you’ve been coming to St.Alban’s. If you want to be notified of the next scheduled class, please call the Church Office.
Confirmation is about strengthening the life of the baptised by the gifts of the Holy Spirit; it is the completion of the initiation begun in Baptism. The bishop of the diocese administers Confirmation by the laying on of hands (and often anointing with chrism), and an invocation of the Holy Spirit for strengthening and the gifts of grace. If Baptism is the beginning of life in Christ, Confirmation strengthens us by the Holy Spirit, by incorporating us more deeply into Christ and more closely into his Body, the Church.
Youth Confirmation: 6th Graders are confirmed after completing six Sunday morning classes that will teach them about the church and the sacraments.
Adult Confirmation: Adults who would like to be confirmed are asked to complete three Sunday morning class which will prepare them for the bishop’s visit.
St.Alban’s gathers as a community just to be together, get to know some new folks, and enjoy good food and company throughout the year. Please watch for notifications of our planned events and join us!
