2019 Altar Flower Dates Available

We are preparing our schedule for flower arrangements for the year 2019 and ask that you get your request in as soon as possible so you may get the date or dates you prefer. The cost of each arrangement will be $65 for a regular Sunday and $75 for the Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter arrangements. No flowers are placed on the altar during the Lenten season –March 10 through April 14, 2019…Easter is April 21, 2019. Please complete the form you either received in the mail, or find in the church bulletin. There are also forms available in the church office. Make checks payable to St. Elizabeth’s Altar Guild.

Stuff the Bus and Campus Clothing Closet

We are again collecting school supplies and gently-used clothing for the Cameron County United Way. A drop-off box is located in the hall outside the church office. Supplies need: loose leaf paper, folders, binders, scissors, pencils, pens, colored pencils, glue and glue sticks, spiral notebooks, construction paper, rulers, crayons, erasers, clear or mesh backpacks. For the Campus Clothing Closet: (all sizes but especially elementary ages) new socks, gently-used shoes, jackets, sweaters, pants.

A Night of Strength with Becca Stevens

The Reverend Becca Stevens, founder of Thistle Farms, will be at St. Alban’s on Wednesday, August 14 from 6:00-7:30 pm for “A Night of Strength” for men, women, and youth. She is in Harlingen for the Valley Baptist Legacy Foundation and will take time to do a program with us! We will offer dinner at 5:30 pm. Make plans to join us for “Where Does Your Strength Come From: Engaging the Power of Prayer” with the Reverend Becca Stevens. Please RSVP to the church office, 428-2305, or mhays@staec.org.

All-Parish Breakfast

Please join us for an All-Parish breakfast on Sunday, August 18 from 9:10-10:15 am. We will provide breakfast tacos, yogurt, fruit, and coffee. We will welcome Kendrah and Aymara who will update us on upcoming plans for children, youth, and families. We will also have a photographer available that morning for anyone who would like to update their photo for the directory. We will begin meeting every third Sunday of the month to grow in relationship with one another through fellowship and conversations while eating delicious food.

Summer Church Services

One service only at 9:30 am, through Sunday, August 4. We will resume two services on Sunday, August 11.

SCULPT

Seeking Christ-centered Unity through the Loving Pursuit of Transformation

Who:     9th/10th - 12th Graders

When:   Every Sunday 5 - 7 pm

Begins August 25, 2019

Where:  The Reed Outreach Center

What:     A place for youth to dig deeper into their faith and grow closer to Christ and each other through worship, Bible study, conversation and community.

*Dinner will be provided

 

REFUGE

Who:     6th - 8th/9th Graders

When:   Every Wednesday 6 - 7:30 pm

Begins August 21, 2019

Where:  The Reed Outreach Center

What:     A place for youth to find rest and renewal in Christ through games,

worship, Bible study and community.

*Dinner will be provided

 

PILLAR

Who:     4th & 5th Graders

When:   Every other Wednesday 3:30 - 4:45 pm

Begins August 28, 2019

Where:  The Reed Outreach Center

What:     An opportunity for tweens to learn the pillars of the Christian faith and who they are as children of God through games,

songs and Bible study.

*A light snack will be provided

 

You do not have to “join” the parish in a formal way in order to worship, attend classes, participate in activities, and support the ministries of the parish.
