I'm New

When you come to St. Alban’s you will find we follow a liturgy (a structured way to worship each week that we share with other Episcopal Churches throughout the world.) Our liturgy includes time for the reading of God’s Holy Word (each week we have one reading from the Old Testament, the Psalms, the New Testament and the Gospel.) There is a sermon followed by prayers and intercessions. The peak of our worship each week is receiving Holy Communion together. We walk through worship together each week and are aided by the use of slides and printed materials. We try to make it as easy as possible for everyone, whether you are an old pro or coming for the first time, to participate.

What about my kids?

Children are always welcome in service. We understand that God made children a little wiggly and a little less quiet. Feel free to bring them a book to read, a soft toy, and/or a snack if needed. Another option is that we have a nursery for infants to four year olds. For older children, we have Children’s Church twice a month for five year olds through fourth grade during the school year. At the beginning of service, two adults lead the children to the Kid’s Room for their own reading of scripture, a lesson, and a craft or art. Just look for the large wooden cross being carried by one of the adults or older children. The children return at the passing of the peace and are present for the Liturgy of the Eucharist.

St. Alban’s has ample parking available both on Austin Street and in two parking lots off Bowie and High Streets.
